Computer Aided Information and Report System for the Support of Agricultural Extension

摘要

The number, complexity and rapid change of information in agricultural extension require the development of a computer based information and report system to support agricultural extension. Difficulties in the design of such an information system are based on the complex structure of information requirement, information support and also on the selection of a usable development method. This review describes the development process of a modular system, which should support extension tasks regarding "Agricultural Promotion Programs" as an exemplary field of extension. This system should be integrated into a global concept for a computer based information extension system. The presented procedure for the conceptual design of the information system integrates extension officers as the potential users and extension organizations as the potential system organizer during all phases of system development. Considering a multi-stage information analysis process a prototype of the information system will bedeveloped and subsequently improved within an evolutionary process. The acceptance of the developed information system should be regarded as an indicator for the suitability of system development methods with userparticipation in the scope of system development for agricultural extension services.
