The development of transportation including the design of entirely new vehicles has produced new problems requiring solution. Traffic noise is some of these problem in the environmental. A widely used technique to reduce the noise and vibration of a vehicle is to enclose the power-plant (PP), the main noise source. Various sheet enclosing structures acting as sound proofed enclosures reduce the noise level caused by sound reflections and scattering. Sound transmission through an enclosure occurs under the influence of incident sound waves causing vibration of the enclosure which then radiates sound itself.
