摘要

Backlash and mesh stiffness variation are the important nonlinear factors to gears. This study deals with initial impact behavior of helical gears with backlash nonlinearity and mesh stiffness variation. To study the effect of the periodical change of mesh stiffness and backlash nonlinearity, this work uses 12 degree of freedom model to describe all translation and rotation motion of helical gears with backlash nonlinearity and mesh stiffness variation. Excitation of helical gears assumes to be torque fluctuations and the periodical change of mesh stiffness. Equations of motion on contact conditions for the model were derived. The dimensionless equations of motion were also derived for the numerical stability. The dimensionless equations were solved to obtain tooth displacement and impact force of helical gears, using the Newmark beta method and the Newton-Raphson method. Parameters of the proposed model are studied by numerical example.
