The aeroelastic flutter and post flutter of a dualistic airfoil in supersonic flight speed regimes have been analyzed. Considering the relax and friction in airfoil connection, a hysteretic curve was used to describe the structure nonlinearity, and the third order Piston Theory Aerodynamics was employed to evaluate the unsteady nonlinear aerodynamic force and moment. Simulations were carried out, and the airfoil dynamic responses involving limit cycle oscillation, bifurcation behavior were observed over parameters of aeroelastic system. Time history, phase plane plot, Poincare map were employed in the chaos study. It was found that the parameters of hysteresis have large effect on limit cycle oscillation, bifurcation and chaotic motion.
