CHARACTERISTIC PROPERTY OF DYNAMIC STRESS CONCENTRATION OF STRIP WITH SHOULDER FILLET

摘要

Dynamic stress concentration factor a of strip made of PMMA with shoulder fillet was investigated in terms of strain gage method. The a value of strip subjected to an impact tension or compression on the narrow end was larger than that of wide end impact. The a value for impact compression was larger than that for impact tension. After the first peek in a strain history,more larger amplitudes were recorded on every strain history due to the superposition of waves reflected from the boundaries of strip. These characteristic properties are quite dif-ferent from static one and it is emphasized that these properties should be taken into account for safe design engineering.
