Effective management of a supply chain system of an organisation is vital for the achievement of the competitive priorities of the organisation, with a view to meet the customers demand. However, various process wastes, and the limited capacities of the processing stations have affected the performance/ throughput of the supply chain system of various organisations. Hence, there is a need to monitor, assess and measure the various process wastes generated within the supply chain system of an organisation as well as identify the bottlenecked stations that limit the performance of its supply chain. In light of this, the aim of this paper is to assess the performance of the supply chain system of an electronic product manufacturing company ABC. The simulation of the manufacturing system of an electronic product manufacturing company ABC was developed using the electronic product process design strategy and operating data captured via system observation and time study, with a view to holistically analyse the performance of the various workstations within the supply chain system of this organisation. Thereafter, a Value Stream Mapping (VSM) was developed to visualise the various process wastes hampering the supply chain. The simulation result of the study revealed that the Surface Mounted Device Quality Check (SMD QC) work station is the primary bottlenecked station limiting the capability of the supply chain in meeting the customers' monthly demands. The results of the VSM analysis revealed that excess transportation, excess motions, waiting, and excess inventory are the process wastes contributing to the inefficiency of the supply chain system of electronic product manufacturing company ABC.
