SOME CONSEQUENCES OF DEADLINE RUSH

Deadline Rush is the behavioural response to deadlines such as project milestones, end-of-period quotas, or time restrictions on the completion of a task. Deadline Reactivity is an individual difference which appears as a parameter in models of performance rates as deadlines approach. We provide a method for measuring individual differences in deadline reactivity which accounts for the fact that the model predicts instantaneous changes in work rate over time. We provide a method to assess the fit of the estimated parameter, and provide a demonstration of its application.
