New UK legislation, procedures, and practices for electricity meters

The Electricity Regulation Examining Service (ERES) became part of the Office of Electricity Regulation (OFFER) in 1989. In OFFER, the ERES has wider responsibilities but will continue to be involved in the pattern type approval of meters, certification of meters and the resolution of disputes concerning meter accuracy. These responsibilities are discussed.
