摘要

This paper presents a new flow visualization technique, namely, the combination of hydrogen-bubble method with ultrasonic imaging. Dynamic flow phenomena in muddy water can be visualized in real time, in a form of tomographic acoustic image of tracer bubbles. The technique has been used in visualizing whirling current and also open channel flow in muddy water. Quantitative information about vortex and flow velocity of the channel flow were obtained respectively using tomographic acoustic images.
