Mirror, Mirror on the Wall... HCWA's Story of Self Reflection

High performing utilities periodically take the opportunity to take a step back, assess operations and strategies, and identify opportunities for improvement in their operations. This "look in the mirror" effort often includes identifying opportunities for improvement in order to stay off the regulatory radar, enhance the level of service provided to customers, increase productivity and quality of operations, and/or lower operating costs. This manuscript focuses on Henry County Water Authority's (HCWA) process, outcomes, and lessons learned for its collection system assessment and optimization planning initiative.
