Air Breakdown at Sharp Edges

摘要

Dedicated experiments designed and performed in the scope of this work confirmed the dependency between the sharpness of electrode edges, defined by the rounding radius, and the breakdown voltage in air. This dependency has been reproduced by simulation using traditional streamer inception models. In addition, the performance of chamfering versus rounding has been evaluated.
