Electronic Amplifier Based on Hall Effect Principle

The Hall effect refers to the generation of voltage across a conductor when placed in a transverse magnetic field, which is perpendicular to the current through it. The physics of this effect is elaborated along with the relevant mathematical expressions. Later on, a detailed account of Hall effect-based devices is given. The emphasis of this work is, however, on the voltage amplifier device. A short general discussion of an amplifier is done, after which the amplifier design employing the Hall effect principle is introduced. The concept is explained, and expression for the amplification factor is derived. This work shall further instigate new ideas in the minds of interested researchers. Finally, overvoltage protection is discussed along with the temperature and noise compensation measures, which are required for the appropriate functioning of the Hall-based amplifier.
