摘要

We present a theory of hollow cathode plasma contactor generated EMI. The theory relates the fluctuations in the electric and magnetic fields in the plasma to the fluctuations in the emission current of the device. The theory is compared with measured electric field fluctuation spectra and electron emission spectra and shown to agree. For low frequencies we find the electric fields are conductive in nature and do not propagate, while for high frequencies electron inertia dominates and the EMI is a transverse wave in a dielectric media.
