摘要

Two full-scale wake planes were measured in front of thepropeller of a bulk carrier by PIV. Furthermore, underwaternoise and pressure fluctuations caused by the propeller wasmeasured at the same time. The following conclusions aredrawn from the present study:1. The flow field around the duct of a bulk carrier wasmeasured for the first time in the world by a 0D2C PIVtechnique. The obtained wake fields are plausible andcomply with the general understanding of flowphenomena in the stern section of this kind of ships. Adetailed view of the data compared with CFDcalculations will be given in an upcoming paper.
