Measurements of propeller disk velocity components have been made for the 154-foot ship R/V ATHENA. Longitudinal, tangential, and radial velocity components are presented for three planes perpendicular to the propeller shaft for full-scale speeds of 9 and 15 knots. In addition, several boundary layer velocity profiles were measured on the full-scale hull. Non-dimensional velocity profiles are presented for several speeds. Finally, the results of an attempt at measuring time dependent velocities ahead of an operating propeller are presented. (Author)
