Research on Integrated Management of Urban Rail Transit Network Construction

Taking a wide view on the construction and operation of urban rail transit (URT) in the world, the URT won't incarnate any benefit until the certain scale of the network has been formed. Nevertheless, the current researches mainly focus on the network planning which is in the early stage of project, and the construction management of single line, ignoring integrated management of network construction. Therefore, through considerable reading amount of research literature, an investigation based on the ideas of resources sharing of URT network, combined with the subway construction of Nanjing city has made. A case study is analyzed in this paper in order to get an integrated management of URT network construction. The emphasis are issues of the foundation of integrated management, descriptions of network integrated state, time sequence optimization of network construction, and the integrated management of network cost. In view of the entire process of network construction, only turn an integrated management based on the resources sharing and then can make sure the entire process of the urban rail transit construction will be carried out efficiently, simultaneously, the reduction of blind construction, improvement of the efficiency of resources using, decrease of construction investments and operation costs of transit network, therefore, achieving a healthy and sustainable development of URT.
