摘要

A mixed radio frequency (RF)/ free space optical (FSO) dual-hop system is considered with the help of a fixed gain relay. It is postulated that the RF link between the source and the relay operates in $kappa - mu$ shadowed fading, while the FSO link from the relay to the destination suffers from Exponentiated Weibull distributed turbulence with pointing errors. Exact closed-form formulas for the outage probability and average bit error rate are derived and validated by simulations to evaluate the impact/benefit of adopting FSO link.
