摘要

In this study, the authors describe tilting and stick-slip experiments on various natural rockdiscontinuities and saw-cut planes to determine their static and dynamic frictional properties. Natural rockdiscontinuities involve schistosity planes in quartzite, green-schist, cooling planes in andesite, granite,saw-cut planes of Ryukyu limestone, Motobu limestone, andesite and basalt from Mt. Fuji, dolomite fromKita-Daitojima, grano-diorite from Ishigaki and Inada granite. Furthermore, these experimental results arecompared with each other to discuss what method is appropriate to determine could be used fordetermining static and dynamic frictional properties of rock discontinuities. static and one-way dynamicshearing experiments and their implications in practice are discussed.
