Advances in technology have allowed shifts to occur in the educational locus with concern to previous spatiotemporal barriers (Jones and Paolucci, 1999). Waves of technology are transforming the traditional educational paradigm from "a closed environment, relying on one-to-many communication" (Oblinger & Rush, 1997) to a curriculum dependent upon an open environment of flattened hierarchies and genuine dialogue. Each voice contributes an essential perspective toward the transformation of the traditional clossroom. The repercussions from the transformation to such a learner-centered educational system will prove both daunting and empowering.
