Measurement of Tree Barriers on Transmission Line Based on Binocular Vision and Steger Algorithm

摘要

The accurate and efficient measurement between the wire and the tree canopy can effectively prevent the vegetation-related failures and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system. With regard to the difficulty in measuring the tree barriers in a power corridor, a method based on binocular vision is proposed. Based on Steger algorithm, an automatic detection algorithm is designed in this method, which can be used to automatically extract the center line of overhead power line and its pixel coordinates; based on the principle of binocular vision, the three-dimensional coordinates of the overhead power line and the contour line of the tree canopy are obtained respectively by the stereo matching algorithm, and then the values of the tree barrier are calculated. The experimental results show that the automatic measurement of the barrier value of the transmission line can be preliminarily realized with this algorithm, with the measurement error being within ±15cm.
