Classification for Two Recovery Action Strategies in Slipping Fall

Preventing falling-related accidents among people at a high risk of falling, such as older people, is an increasingly important issue. In a previous study, we have developed a method for analyzing recovery action in slipping fall experiments and classifying different recovery strategies between subjects. By evaluating stability in different strategies, we will examine which strategies were safer, enabling the identification of individuals that were most at risk. In the current study, we classified the recovery action strategies of nine subjects. In experiments to classify recovery action strategies, subjects' strategies were categorized into strategies using flexion of the hip joint and strategies using extension of the hip joint.
