About the paddy rice disease prevention (Gibberella fujikuroi), it was reported that the irradiated water by the VUV (mainly 185 and 254 nm) had a suppressant effect. In this report, the experimental apparatus toward practical use from the table test was newly set up and then the prevention effect was confirmed. The experiment was conducted that the specimen was prepared by the normal seeds mixed with polluted seeds. After a predetermined time passed in the water, then it was kept in a constant temperature and constant humidity tank. The specimen was judged by checking to see whether it was infected or not. On the other hand, it seemed that the VUV irradiated water had the maximum effect just after irradiation, but it became clear as a result of experiment that the effect appeared several seconds after irradiation. Then as the other approach on making clear these phenomena, the experiment was tested by using methylene blue. The existence of the hydroperoxide anion due to super oxide anion is suggested, but the increase in Ozone was not observed.
