Energy Management for a Community Microgrid in the city of Boston

This study considers three different energy management strategies (dispatch strategies) applied, each at a time, to a stand-alone community microgrid assumed to be located in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. Although the microgrid does not interact with the main grid, and accordingly does not perform any energy trade activities; the results show that the energy management technique adapted by a microgrid controller highly affects the overall economics of the microgrid project. It dramatically affects the amount of clean energy generated whenever renewable energy generation systems are utilized within the microgrid, in addition to affecting the input and output system parameters.
