Emotional Intelligence a Success Indicator for Implementing Liberal Arts Education in Morocco

The Moroccan education system has reached an impasse in the last decade. Liberal arts (LA) education constitutes a tangible opportunity to bring this situation out of its present quagmire. LA is perceived as a great agent for change in educational strategies as it facilitates students' emotional development (EI) and is, therefore, a good alternative for helping the Moroccan education sector move forward. This paper places the emphasis on the impact of liberal arts on emotional intelligence as an indicator for general success among Moroccan university students. It attempts to provide evidence that LA education is impacting positively and significantly students' personal and academic life and, thereby, should be recognized as a viable option to consider by the Moroccan education decision makers.
