Walk into a CS1 classroom and you may see instructors communicating the properties of some abstract CS concept through gesture. Students may try to understand how a piece of code executes by sketching a code trace, drawing arrows and crossing out values while using spatial language like, …afterwards, the code comes back up here and then goes back down.
