摘要

We investigated magnetic tunnel junctions for use in magnetic read heads. The tunnel junction structure consists of an ultra thin Al-oxide layer sandwiched by two ferromagnetic layers. The magnetoresistance ratio(MR ratio) of the tunnel junction depends on the spin polarizations of the two magnetic layers. In this paper, we report on Co{sub}xFe{sub}(1-x)/Al-oxide/ Co{sub}xFe{sub}(1-x) tunnel junctions in which we have obtained MR ratio in excess of 40%.
