This paper presents the design specifications of an Antenna Visualization System that demonstrates common electromagnetic concepts such as Radiation Patterns, Multi-Path Fading, and Polarization Mismatch. The system comprises three types of antennas (dipole, patch, and PIFA), a 5.8 GHz transmitter, an energy harvesting Nikitin patch that powers an LED, a long exposure camera, and a laboratory manual. The transmitting antenna wirelessly powers the light-emitting diode (LED) located in the energy harvester. The transmitter antenna's radiation pattern is captured by a long exposure photograph of the LED's varying light intensity. The prototype has a production cost of dollar381.14. The Antenna Visualization System's compact, portable, and inexpensive design makes it an excellent educational tool for classroom settings.
