The mechanical engineering project investigation module at the University of Johannesburg: Supervisor experiences

The experiences of the authors in supervising final year students doing their project investigation course in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Science (DMES) at the University of Johannesburg, are discussed in this paper. The emphasis is on reflecting on the diversity in project scopes, as well as in approaches followed by students. The objectives for this capstone course are given in short, and selected examples of projects are discussed.
