The main battle tank, form one of the most important, and at the same timemost difficult, groups of targets to be defeated on the battlefield. Themodern development of anti armour kinetic energy projectiles has been inthe direction of long rod and fin stabilised penetrators. This configuration isvery much sensitive for in bore balloting and perturbations duringdiscarding of sabot. These disturbances mainly affect the lethality due tosinusoidal motion of penetrator in its flight. FSAPDS (Fin StabilisedArmour Piercing Discarding Sabot) ammunition is the Primary Ammunitionfor all kind of tanks. Design of ammunition with minimum yaw plays animportant role in achieving desired lethality and goals. The experimentaldata was utilized with a mathematical model to determine aerodynamiccoefficients of penetrator in flight.
