The armour piercing projectile, with a high length to dia ratio, has guiding fins (40) fixed to its rear end. The fins (40) are attached to the projectile body by means of a bush (32) with aninternal screw thread. This bush (32) extends over the rear half (36) of the fins (40). The front half (38) of each fin (40) lies close to the body (19) of the projectile with a small gap (42) between the fin (40) and the body (19). This gap (42) is sufficiently small that the pointed tip of the fin lies within the boundary layer of the slip-stream when the projectile is in flight. USE - Armour piercing projectiles.
