摘要

An experimental investigation was performed at the PICASSO facility in POSTECH to study the effect of particle morphology on frictional pressure drops in beds, and the adequacy of suggested mean diameters as the effective particle diameter. The experimental beds were composed of single-size three spherical- and four cylindrical-particles and the working fluid was single-phase water/air. As a result of verifying the adequacy of mean diameters, this study reports that the Equivalent diameter of a cylindrical particle is more proper to represent the particle morphology effect on frictional pressure drops in beds than the Sauter mean diameter.
