Study on the Fractal Characters of the Bullwhip Effect for Order-up-to Policy based on Demand Signal Processing

摘要

The Bullwhip Effect is currently a main, hot and difficult issue of in the field of supply chain management study. Most of the previous researches on the Bullwhip Effect have employed the random theory. However, more and more research find that the random distribution is not best methods to study on the Bullwhip Effect, because the linear random model didn't describe the interior characteristic of Bullwhip Effect in a supply chain. In this paper, we aim at the nonlinear generating mechanism of the Bullwhip Effect, analyze the variance amplification of order quantities observed in supply chain based on fractal theory and its methods, and we make an effort to provide a new insights of the study on the Bullwhip Effect.
