1. The performance of electro-optical sensor under conditions of low visibility dusty atmosphere is altered due to absorption and scattering of the aerosol medium. 2. As a result, false positive and negative alarms are caused. 3. One way to avoid this is to test the sensor performance under controlled environment in aerosol chambers. 4. The goal of the present study is to characterize the best practice of using aerosol chamber to test the performance of electro - optical sensor in dusty atmosphere.
