Hydrogen detection is an essential part in corrosion studies. Localized measurements of hydrogen concentrations in solutions close to the solid/electrolyte interface during corrosion can give an insight into corrosion mechanisms. Another closely linked field of application is the investigation of hydrogen embrittlement, where techniques are needful that enable analysis of hydrogen diffusion paths in the affected materials. The aim of this work is to present recent developments and solutions for both of these two important research topics.
