An Efficient Method to Synthesize CL-20 by Nitrolysis of TAIW with N2O5Using Iconic Liquids as Catalyst

CL-20 was prepared via nitration with concentrated nitric and sulfuric acid in industrial scale, which was seriously harmful to the environment.N2O5is an environmentally friendly nitrating agent, and can be used to synthesize CL-20 by nitrolysis of TAIW.For its lower nitrating ability, the corresponding result was not satisfying.Four types of ionic liquids(ILs) were used as catalysts to with N2O5, and were found effective.The combined use of[Et3N(CH2)4SO3H][BSO] and N2O5 could increase the yield of CL-20 to 97%.The effects of amount of ILs, species and reaction time have been discussed.The catalyst can be recycled and reused five times without any significant loss of catalytic activity.
