摘要

The new approach to assess dynamically the catastrophic earthquake damages form RS images associated with GIS and RDBMS in urban area has been developed. The integrated system, running on LAN environment, will provide functions of both visual and automatic interpretation methods to extract damage information from images. The consistency of data extracted from different versions of images can be kept through the data version management and coordinate transformation between the images. As the number of manually determined objects or their damage levels increased, the automatic identified objects or their damage levels will be expected to be more consistent with the actual ones. This will expect to be faster and more precise in damage information extraction. Thus it can serve well the emergency rescue after an earthquake. A software system was developed according to the idea. It integrated with the image process subsystem on local network and the public system on internet environment. The main ideas of the approach and the realization and functions of the system are discussed in the paper.
