SpaceMakers: Innovation Space Lab

摘要

Developing competencies for high-impact projects to fulfill the space industry’s necessities in Mexico has been the mission of the SpaceMakers (SM) lab. This article aims to verify the efficacy of Project-Based Learning (PBL) as a strategy to train engineering students for the improvement of space-related projects. Considering the Penta helix ecosystem where academy, government, industry, society, and sustainable development are interconnected. In this regard, the division of areas is composed of Satellites, Rovers, and Rocketry, where the team members apply depending on their skills, capabilities, and area of expertise. It is worth mentioning that the importance of a multidisciplinary and well-organized group encourages women in STEM to take on challenges and projects focused on space technology.
