Due to the 50km~2 wide one-time reclamation which has not yet occurred worldwidely, closing the closure gap became a key technology of constructing the Qing Cao Sha reservoir. Based on a large amount of scientific experiments, the design scheme is proposed and the key control process during construction organization as well, namely the site selection of closure gap, the technical routine of hydraulic design of 800m long single closure gap scheme, the innovation of protection structure, the closure scheme using section-steel frame cage for the first time, the hydraulic monitor during closing and the key technology during construction. And the success of such reclamation in deepwater would provide positive reference for other similar ultra-large closure gaps.
