Spatial analysis studies in EPA/ORD have included application of land use regression models (LURs) for health and air quality assessments. Nitrogen dioxide (NO_2) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) have been collected using passive samplers at urban air monitoring networks in El Paso and Dallas, TX, and Detroit, MI to assess spatial variability and source influences. Passive sampling for NO_2 and coarse particulate matter (PMc) has also recently been completed in Cleveland, OH. Comparisons on development and predictive capabilities of LURs from these four cities will be presented to address uniform application of LURs across study areas.
