Feasibility investigation on 2×2 optical switch using silicon waveguide and phase-change material

We investigated the feasibility of a 2×2 optical switch that uses a phase-change material and directional coupler made of silicon waveguides. The tolerances for fabrication errors and for the optical properties of the phase change material were reported.
