This study reports the behaviour of the electrolytic diffusion current on some magneto electrochemical cells that we have developed to analyze the electrochemical reaction in a magnetic field. In particular, the diffusion current measured using a cylindrical magnetohydrodyamic electrode consisting of the inner rod and the outer pipe showed almost no response to magnetic field up to 18 T. Our simulation results supported a model in which a natural convection dominated the diffusion current of the low magnetic fields and the magnetohydrodynamic flow induced by the high magnetic fields slipped on an electrode surface.
