High quality grids generation and numerical simulation of the flow field around wing-body configuration

This paper introduces a numerical scheme on the basis of high quality grids to simulate compressible steady flow field around the wing-body configuration by solving Navier-Stokes equations coupled with Shear Stress Transport (SST) turbulence model. The subject of this computation research is DLR-F4 wing-body because of the availability of exact experimental data. Compared numerical simulation results to experimental data, lift coefficient, drag coefficient and pitching moment coefficient differ only 5.32%, 1.42% and 3.08% respectively. The results obtained are in good agreement with experimental data, indicting that the present method provides an accurate, efficient, and robust algorithm for simulation of the flow field around wing-body configuration.
