According to the serious abrasion phenomenon of diesel engine cylinder liner made of boron cast iron, the mechanism about the abrasion of diesel engine cylinder liner was analyzed. Based on the working condition of diesel engine cylinder liner, inside surface of cylinder liner was electroplated with the material of Ni-Co, and contrast experimental abrasion test was perfomed and a unequal interval grey forecasting model on Ni-Co coating abrasion of diesel engine cylinder liner was established based on the experimental data. The results indicate that Once the base material on inner surface of cylinder liner made of wearing boron cast iron is electroplated with Ni-Co coating, H/E of Ni-Co coating material of cylinder liner will be increased to 58.6 from 2.57 prior to coating. When the surface hardness ratio of the cylinder line with Ni-Co coating and wear particle is about 1.320. When the ratio of surface hardness between the cylinder liners coated with Ni-Co and the abrasive particles is approximately 1.32, the abrasive wear will decline drastically, if the surface hardness of material is further improved, reduction of abrasion rate of both pulverized coal particles would be unapparent in effect. the Ni-Co coating can enhance the service life of engine cylinder in a great degree. The predictional residual life is no less than 650 000 km, which matches well the real residual life of the Ni-Co coating of diesel engine cylinder liner.
