摘要

In this study, a deformable image registration method based on FEM was used as a surrogate means to assess histology section structure distortion caused by tissue processing on human arterial plaque specimens. The results show that most shrinkage occurs in the lipid region, which is moderate in the fibrous tissue. An average of 20% reduction can be expected in FCT after histology tissue processing.
