Researches in the past have shown that water quality in Lake Ogawara is closely influential on the egg-laying and hatching of the Corbicula japonica. Yet as benthos including Corbicula japonica react sensitively to the change of the bottom sediment, it is important to grasp the bottom sediment, too. This research treats the connection between the habitat of Corbicula japonica and the bottom sediment in Lake Ogawara. From the research the following results were mainly gained. The bottom sediment which is suited for the habitat of Corbicula japonica is shallower than depth of water 5m, under amount of mud 10% and under ignition loss 3~4%. The amount of mud has a strong interrelation with ignition loss.
