@@ INTRODUCTIONThe proposed paper presents an aerodynamic methodas well as results achieved with this method fordetermining unsteady aerodynamic characteristics anddynamic stability derivatives in roll of a bird wing.Thedetermination of the unsteady lateral aerodynamicderivatives is carried out using a powerfulcomputational fluid dynamics method.In thesimulation of the bird motion,the geometry of the birdis rotated in relation to the centre of rotation.Theunsteady flow solution is obtained by solving unsteadythree dimensional Euler equations.The bird motion ismodelled with sinus or cosinus function.With thesefunctions,the aerodynamic derivatives can be derivedusing Fourier analysis.
