This paper uses the system identification theory to the domain of electromagnetic coupling modeling.The contact electrostatic discharge events are obtained by contact the charged discharge tip to the current target by hand during the testing,then using an advanced Agilent digital memory oscilloscope,the waveforms of ESD current and the voltage induced on the self-made semi-metal loop are recorded.The contact ESD experiment is modeling through the system identification toolbox in MATLAB.And the model is selecting as OE model.The model data select as UESD=4kv.Finally,it is proven true that system identification could be used in ESD modeling.And a new thought has been put forward for ESD modeling.
