The system (200) has a circuitry (100) provided with a non-linear element. A creating module (202) creates a set of current pulses to the circuitry. A determination module (204) determines a periodical and amplitude-dependant transfer function of the circuitry based on the set of current pulses. A modeling module (206) models a periodical and downstream-pending impedance of the non-linear element. A simulation module (208) simulates transmission to the circuitry based on a model. A comparison module (210) compares voltage amplitude and exhausted energy of the element of the circuitry. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for providing an electrostatic discharge protective circuit (2) a computer program product comprising instructions for determination of a periodical and amplitude-dependant transfer function of circuitry.
