While the technical scuba industry, on the recreational side, has been using decompression computers for years, the commercial diving industry still uses paper tables as the norm. Diving incidents occur and the first item inquired about is the documentation of the dive. We all rely on the supervisor and his assistants to document diving operations and the degree of accuracy depends on human input and attention to detail. During incidents and emergencies, often the paperwork is left for a later time. The implementation of a diving decompression computer provides an indelible record of the dive and subsequent decompression.
