Interactions between N coating fibers in fiber piezoelectric composites

In this paper we study the interactions between N piezoelectric fibers with surface coating in an infinite elastic matrix.It is assumed that the fibers are circular-shape and transversely isotropic,and that the matrix is subjected to remote anti-plane shears and in-plane electric fields.Based on Muskhelishvili’s theory,the general solutions for complex potentials are first derived,and then the numerical results are obtained for special cases of several cases of several fiber arrays.Discussions are made about the influence of coating thickness,array type of fibers and material properties on interface stress concentration in the matrix.These results are also shown graphically and compared with those in the literature.
